Abstract Text:
A new code is developed which solves the bilinear Boltzmann collision operator using the Galerkin-Petrov algorithm of Gamba and Rjasanow (https://arxiv.org/abs/1710.05903), generalized for inelastic collisions. Rigorous benchmarks show good accuracy with relatively few spectral coefficients representing 3D velocity space. Therefore, once initialized, time advancement is computationally trivial. Initializing the collision matrix, however, is a demanding task, but this is easily parallelized. The collision matrices are a function of resolution and interaction cross section, but are otherwise reusable. A database of pre-computed collision matrices for fusion-relevant applications (e.g. disruptions and divertors) is currently being populated.

I know this is late, but I was encouraged by the email saying "Post-deadline abstracts are acceptable". I understand if it's too late to change the official program.
