Abstract Text:
The well-known gyroviscous cancellation in sheared slab geometry is revisited in this work to investigate the cancellation mechanism based on a systematically-structured perturbative method and extended to include Mikhailovskii-Tsypin ordering as well. Investigations on all possible perturbed terms in the momentum balance equation allow easier identification of the cancellation mechanism in both coordinate-free and coordinate-dependent forms. Addition of the Mikhailovskii-Tsypin's term adds a small anistropic contribution to Braginskii's result when the no flow velocity assumptions are applied as in earlier works. It, however, has the potential of increased incompleteness when this assumption is removed. This work presents the perturbative method applied in this study along with the intermediate investigation results.
