Abstract Text:
Recent advancements [1,2,3] have significantly improved the design of equilibrium stellarator magnetic fields, optimizing their capability to confine energetic ions. However, the ion transport due to interaction with shear Alfvén waves – known to be significant in previous tokamak studies [4 and refs therein] – can lead to considerable ion losses and needs to be accounted for in stellarator design.
This poster presents recent [5] and ongoing research of energetic ion transport in stellarators resulting from the interaction with Shear Alfvén waves.
