Abstract Text:
The goal of the Realta modeling program is to create the tools to model plasma stability and transport in magnetic mirror experiments and enable the design of future mirror devices. To this end, we have been working to develop the RealTwin magnetic mirror modeling framework. We present an overview of recent progress in our model development including: the evaluation of the Wisconsin High-Temperature Superconducting Axisymmetric Mirror’s (WHAM) performance using equilibrium reconstruction, stability modeling of mirror plasmas, and transport modeling of WHAM with neutral beam injection and electron cyclotron heating. Future modeling plans will also be discussed.
